Across the Great Divide-It's all downhill from here, bothways.

Today we crossed the Continental Divide.  This is the spot which determines which way a drop of water will flow.  If a raindrop lands on my left hand it will flow to the Atlantic Ocean  If it lands on my right hand it will flow to the Pacific Ocean.

Roadside javelinas

We were on our way to the Gila Cliff Dwellings.  We left really early this time so we could get there.  We left at 8:45 am and got there at 11.  The mountain road is a nail-biter for sure.  No guardrail, narrow, steep, constant turns.  Along the way we saw deer and javelinas.

We're up high in the mountains-snow and ice up here

The Cliff Dwellings are interesting.  These are caves that were used by Native Americans over 700 years ago.  These cave dwellers refurbished the caves by making actual rooms within them.  Visitors today see the structures that are left. Visitors also see corn cobs that are 700 years old and only 3 inches long.  We hiked up the side of a mountain to see this and it was worth the climb.
